Gaby Roslin steps in for Zoe Ball Gaby Roslin happily returned to the early morning slot on BBC Radio 2 today as her colleague Zoe Ball took a week off work to recuperate from Glastonbury at home. Introducing the show today, Gaby said welcomed her co-stars Tina Daheley and Richie Anderson, as she said: "Good morning to you, Gaby Roslin in for Zoe Ball. "How are you on this 3rd July, when you look out of the window it's September, but that's the only mention we're going to have of the weather, stop, that's it," as Tina joked: "It's out of your system.
" Gaby replied: "Yeah I think you just have to have that little bit out, once it is out, it is done." Richie chimed in: "Are you embracing because I find that when you have like this, and then you get a bit of sun, it makes you appreciate it more." Tina responded: "I appreciate all weather! I just wish the drizzle wouldn't linger," as Gaby jumped in: "That's it, we're not going to mention it at all.
" Gaby Roslin continued as a presenter while Zoe Ball took leave. (Image: GETTY) Gaby is stepping in for Zoe this week, typically hosts the Radio 2 breakfast show every weekday from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, taking over from Chris Evans at the beginning of 2019. Earlier this year, Zoe took time off from BBC Radio due to her mother's cancer diagnosis.
Her mother, Julia, passed away in April, and Gaby covered for Zoe during her absence. Zoe is taking a well-earned break after covering Glastonbury, as she covered the famous music festival for BB.
