FANS of Young Sheldon have had the last laugh, after the just-canceled show has found new life on Netflix. CBS canceled The Big Bang Theory spinoff last year, in a move that shocked viewers. Young Sheldon aired its last original episodes on May 16.

Nearly 9 million people tuned in to say goodbye , making it the most watched episode of the show in four years. And now a whole new audience is finding and falling in love with the nerdy childhood of Sheldon Cooper on Netflix . The first five seasons of Young Sheldon dropped on the streamer last November, and in just the final two months of the year, was streamed more than 88 million times, according to Deadline .



More than 26 million have watched the first season alone, while an additional 17 million have clicked on season 2. Angry fans, who are still upset at CBS' decision to cancel the show in the first place, flooded social media with "told you so." "Bet CBS realizes they made a big mistake not keeping Young Sheldon around for at least 1-2 more seasons," one person posted online.

"I wish Netflix and others would realize that cancelling every show after a couple of seasons is not the way to build a loyal audience to television shows," another slammed. A third added, "I would sacrifice both my parents for another season of Young Sheldon." CBS announced the end of the show last November, before the final season even started airing.
