XDefiant Season 1’s mountain of issues continues to pile up, this time with bot lobbies becoming a major issue. Although bots aren’t at all new in the FPS genre, primarily since they’re often used to fill up lobbies lacking players, it becomes a problem when an entire team is composed of them. Because not only does it affect the game’s enjoyability, but it also ruins the experience for those looking to test their skills against real people.
Unfortunately, that’s precisely what’s happening in Ubisoft’s shooter, with some players on Reddit sharing images of opposing squads made up of these mindless machines. Based on Reddit user , these bot lobbies are used to boost player levels quickly (hence the bot’s name, ZeusBoostBot). User posted a similar image with the same set of bots making up an enemy team they faced.
A handful of shared similar experiences, and surprisingly enough, one Redditor admitted to being the culprit under one post. User said they were leveling these bot accounts up as advertisements “to make money off people for bot lobbies.” They later revealed in a separate that they’re “the host that’s putting all the zeusboost bots in [matches],” which predictably didn’t go down well with a couple of frustrated players.
