A 'radical' 30ft-tall wall is being erected in the Bullring as Selfridges gears up for a sporting summer. The luxury store is setting up a 30ft climbing wall for July and August and it will host weekly run clubs for customers. Selfridges has teamed up with local grassroots community Active Inclusion to promote outdoor and sporting activities to Brummies.

They've created their own Team Selfridges sports kit and will throw a sports-themed party for kids. There'll be special window displays too. The climbing wall will be in place from Thursday, July 25 for six weeks.

Selfridges says the wall is 'radical in design' and is 'made to bring people together. It's being run in partnership with Rock Up, an organisation that 'empowers individuals to nurture personal growth, self-confidence and physical well-being'. The wall will be in the atrium in the centre of Selfridges and visitors will be able to book 45-minute climbing sessions under the guidance of professional climbers. As many as six can book at a time, both adults and children over the age of four, and tickets are £9.50 per person.

Opening times for the wall are between 10am and 6pm from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays from 11am until 5pm. As well as climbing, Selfridges' run club will be held every Thurs.
