Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra accused of cheating According to the complaint of the bullion trader Kothari, Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, along with their associates, orchestrated a scheme under their company where they enticed investors with promises of heavy returns on gold investments.
The scheme was named ‘Satyug Gold’ and it allegedly assured investors of gold delivery at a fixed rate, regardless of market fluctuations in prices. Leading players in the gold and bullion market, Kothari, claimed that he was persuaded to invest a substantial amount in the scheme. Reportedly, assurances from Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, and their associates convinced him of the scheme’s legitimacy and the timely delivery of gold upon maturity.
However, upon reaching maturity date on April 19, 2019, he allegedly did not received the promised gold despite his upfront payment of Rs 90,38,600. He further seemingly supported his claims with a covering letter sig.
