LIVERPOOL and Uruguay star Darwin Nunez has hit the headlines for jumping into a wild crowd brawl after a Copa America semi final. A scuffle broke out between Colombia and Uruguay supporters in the stands but Nunez climbed up from the players' bench to remonstrate, appearing to defend his family. Footage captured the pandemonium and according to American football journalist Favian Renkel, Nunez was "told something by his significant other before he goes ballistic".

Uruguay players accused Colombian fans of targeting their families, with Nunez seen consoling his young son after the match.
