A loved-up couple say they are targeted by vile online trolls – because they’re both transgender. Husband Jaymar Hill was born a woman while his new wife Ocean Banks was previously a man. The couple met on Facebook after Ocean recognised why Jaymar had scars on his body.
While the pair, from Pennsylvania, USA, never thought they would end up with another trans person, they say their shared experiences led to a whirlwind romance. And, after just three months, the pair were married. Ocean said: “This is my first time dating a trans man.
I had talked to a trans man but I knew that wasn’t my soulmate.” Jaymar meanwhile thought he was going to be attracted to men. He added: “I thought I would be attracted to feminine guys but it wasn't enough, something was missing.
“All the signs told me I was going to end up with a trans woman. Being with Ocean, she understands me, she don't get my pronouns wrong, she makes me feel like a man. Everybody else that I dated they always reminded me what I was, so I never felt this free.
” Jaymar’s son Quana says he was happy for his dad but felt the marriage was “a little fast”. He added: “I was about 16/17 when my mum transitioned to a trans man, I was happy for him but the marriage was a little fast.” But the couple get trolled online, with commenters saying they should have simply “dated before they transitioned” or are “straight with extra steps”.
They say they chose to “respond to the mean comments with kindne.
