Everyone expecting deliveries from Amazon over the next few days is being warned to be cautious over possible scam messages. Security experts say scam attempts are likely to increase this week because of the Amazon Prime Day event on Tuesday and Wednesday. And there are fears more people could be caught out by bogus texts and emails.

Criminals know even more people than usual will be using Amazon to take advantage of discounts from the online giant but it could make customers more susceptible to scams as they are expecting messages about their products and perhaps less likely to think they are being conned. People who get texts or emails claiming to be from Amazon are being warned to be wary before opening them and clicking any links. The online giant is one of the companies used most often by criminals to trick people.
