One frustrated Walmart shopper is making a fuss over a new policy at the home and grocery giant. The customer, from Foreston, Minnesota, said she refuses to show employees her receipt at the door upon leaving until the grocer opens up "regular registers." Walmart item recalled due to 'potential' and 'sometimes fatal' disease Walmart is giving customers refunds after a vicious con "I don't like to show my receipt when leaving Walmart," she wrote in a May Facebook post .

"I'm not shoplifting, but if you feel the need to check it, maybe have some regular registers open." The woman said she "three different articles" on the subject and found Walmart cannot "legally ask you" for your receipt unless they have "reasonable belief there was theft involved." "Members-only stores (Costco, Sam's, etc.

.) can legally ask you and detain you if you refuse to show it," she told her following. She did not specify what articles she read.

However, her line of thought checks out. Unlike its members-only clubs, where customers are required to show their receipts as it's part of the terms and conditions, Walmart customers are allowed to decline a receipt check, lawyer and business professor Alex Colangelo told the Toronto Star in 2023. Walmart also owns Sam's Club.
