The CW is pulling the plug on Walker after four seasons on the network, concluding with what will now be the series finale on June 26. As reported by Variety , The CW will not renew Walker for a fifth season. Instead, the action-drama series will finish its run with the fourth season, which is currently airing with Jared Padalecki in the title role.
The actor and executive producer shared the news of the show ending on Instagram with "a heavy heart." "Walker will not be airing on CW for a fifth season," Padalecki confirmed in the caption of his post. "It's a tough piece of news, to be sure, but we are SO thankful for the Walker Family that has been built, both on set and off.
" "It has been a unique honor to be a part of the cast and crew (and fandom!) that helped Walker tell the stories that we told," he added further on in his statement. "I will forever smile on the years I got to spend with the cast and crew and studio and network and fandom that made this all possible. Til we ride again.
" Nexstar acquired The CW in 2022 and made its intentions clear from the outset by cancelling several original scripted series in favor of low-cost imports and co-productions. Walker was one of the few remaining scripted shows still running from the pre-Nexstar days, so its fate had been hanging in the balance for a while. "We want to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors and producers of Walker for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons," The CW said in a sta.
