The final episode of BBC anthology series Inside No. 9 has now aired and viewers were left in tears. The show, which has been running since 2014, came to an end on Wednesday, June 12 after nine series with the final episode Plodding On.
Inside No. 9 is the brainchild of Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, who have previously worked together on The League of Gentleman and Psychoville. What did you think of the last episode? Let us know in the comments .
The final episode looked back at the series as a whole, serving as somewhat of a 'greatest hits' of episodes. Several of the guest stars from previous series returned for the final episode, including Anne Reid and Tim Key. Steve told his partner that he was “sick” of Inside No. 9 and that the show was merely “little half-hour nothings, with every fourth one a dud”. Then, Reece called Steve his “only friend” in a particularly poignant moment.
Following the episode viewers took to social media to share their thoughts with many people saying they were left feeling emotional. One person commented: “As a mahoosive on the buses fan, the ending of inside no. 9 has made my heart very very happy.
