A prominent obstetrician and fertility specialist, Porter was well known to viewers as the host of Nine's long-running life style hit of the 90s Good Medicine. In his own field of medicine Porter rose to fame as a member of a team of doctors who delivered the first IVF birth in NSW . Porter later hit the headlines in 2003 when he was the first doctor to deliver a baby on live TV.



Channel Nine News paid tribute to Porter in a bulletin on Saturday. Former Today show star Dr. Ric Porter (pictured) has died at age 69 of pancreatic cancer.
