Employees working at a vet clinic have dished on the dog breeds they would never own. Eight veterinarians in the US were asked to expose their least favourite varieties — with half the group agreeing on one surprising breed they would never bring home. However, the most commonly mentioned variety on the no-go list was the Shiba Inu, a hunting dog breed from Japan . A member of vet staff filmed herself asking employees around the clinic to name the dog breeds they would never own after years of experience in the pet industry.



Two vets confessed they were not fans of the husky — an outgoing, loyal and mischievous breed that’s known for its wolf-life appearance and striking eyes. Shar Pei, a short-nosed, or brachycephalic breed and the toy dog Chihuahua were mentioned once. Meanwhile, four vets said they would steer clear of the Shiba Inu, known for its fox-like appearance and extremely confident personality.

Shibas are quite independent and territorial with a strong hunting instinct and are said to not be the best choice for first-time owners or families with young kids who might test their impatient side. The video has been viewed more than 4.7 million times — with many weighing in on the list.
