This Morning fans lash out at Helen Worth tribute segment ITV 's This Morning opened the show with a tribute to actres Helen Worth on Thursday (June 6) following the surprise news that she is set to exit the role of Gail Platt in Coronation Street after 50 years. However viewers couldn't help but notice they didn't actually ask her to partake in the feature. Hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley presented a montage of her best moments on the cobbles.
They then sat down to chat to the show's soap expert Sharon Marshall and two of Helen's former co-stars. Todd Boyce, who played her half brother and serial killer Stephen Reid and Brian Capron, who starred as her notorious serial killer third husband Richard Hillman, took to the sofa to sing her praises. As they spoke an image of Helen in character as Gail was displayed on a screen.
Fans were not amused and took to X, formerly known as Twitter to make their feelings known. @cj_787 opined: "Helen Worth can't make it as she can't be a**** #ThisMorning." @YouBearsssssss commented: "So Gail Platt from # Corrie is leaving and they have a whole piece on it BUT they don't even have her in the studio What on earth.
