Celebrity pals including the likes of comedian Romesh Ranganathan sent warm wishes via videolink this morning as they marked him turning 51. It was his co-star Alison Hammond who let his true age slip, as she exclaimed: "Do you know what? It's a lovely age!" However, she couldn't resist pointing out that she is a couple of years behind him on the calendar, quipping: "I'm still in my forties, darling!" This will be the first birthday that Dermot has chosen to spend at work, rather than taking the day off for his celebrations.
