CD Projekt, the publisher behind series such as The Witcher and its now-hit Cyberpunk 2077 game, says that they are looking to release titles more frequently than they have in the past. The aim was revealed during the quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, where CD Projekt also touched upon their current projects in development. The studio’s joint CEO Michał Nowakowski was quizzed about the CD Projekt Red bandwidth, as they are currently handling the development of more than a single AAA title.
He answered (as reported by ), “We already worked on two projects at the same time when we worked on [Cyberpunk 2077 DLC] Phantom Liberty because that was a game-sized project with almost 300 people working on it, and at the same time we have already been working on Polaris, so we’ve had an experience of working on more than one project.” Polaris here refers to the codename for the upcoming Witcher 4 title. Nowakowski also listed out that the Cyberpunk 2 title is being developed in their newly-established Boston studio, whereas the Polaris project is being developed in Europe.
Moreover, he mentioned that there are other teams who are currently working on Project Sirius in association with developer The Molasses Flood, for the multiplayer-based spin-off of The Witcher. After explaining that these projects are being simultaneously developed, Nowakowski said that fans can “definitely expect us to release more titles and the cadence of launches is something we definitely plan to in.
