Rome has the highest number of pet-friendly hotels with 1,210 options to choose from - however it has fewer pet sitters than Paris with 295 registered ones.

Despite this, there are a lot of dog-friendly restaurants to choose from, so your dog likely won’t need a sitter, as they will be welcome in 904 places to eat. Madrid has the highest number of pet sitters in Europe at 2,421 and the third highest number of parks at 102. Pet owners can also find 496 dog welcoming restaurants and 150 hotels that let pets stay, too.

Coming in third on the list is London with a score of 169 out of 200 - the British capital lost poin.
