Wimbledon has wreaked havoc on BBC's television schedule once again, forcing a last-minute programme change that left viewers perplexed and frustrated. Presenters Alex Jones and Vernon Kay were lined up for their regular slot on The One Show this Friday, July 12, in an episode dedicated to marking the life and work of the beloved Michael Mosley. Those on the famous green sofa included actress Anne-Marie Duff discussing the second series of the hit Channel 5 show Suspect, while Perrie Edwards, formerly of Little Mix, graced fans with her latest track.

Dismayed fans made their voices heard on social media.



One viewer vented on Twitter : "Why can't we just stay on @BBCOne for @BBCTheOneShow." Another expressed discontent, accompanied by an eyeroll emoji: "BBC obsession with sport." While a third protested: "Why do they need to change to BBC One when they have till 8 on 2?" Alongside the usual programming, this particular Friday also celebrated the Beeb's "Just One Thing Day", inspired by Michael Mosley's influential Radio 4 podcast.
