You may not be familiar with a small village in Neath Port Talbot county called Banwen - it's probably not top of your list if you're in search of great food. But you'd be wrong - it should be right up there. Because it's there where you will find MAG, which stands for 'Meat and Greet', an independent street food restaurant hidden behind an adult learning centre in the village.
Once you try its incredible food and excellent service, you will definitely be coming back for more. The restaurant was set up six years ago by chef Geth Thomas and his former business partner, as the local pair were struck by the fact there were no restaurants or eateries nearby and wanted to offer somewhere local families, couples and groups of friends could go for a delicious dinner without having to trek miles away. Now run by Geth and his sister, Lowri Miller, MAG continues to serve locals and regulars - but is becoming something of a destination restaurant for people from further afield, thanks to its mouthwatering burgers and large portions of tempting side dishes.
