THE Grand Tour star James May has landed a new show worlds away from the beloved motoring programme. The Grand Tour launched on Amazon Prime Video in 2016 and has aired five series. Creators Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond and James May also host, which launched after the trio left the BBC’s Top Gear .
It has been confirmed The Grand Tour will end after the ongoing fifth series. Lining up next steps after the show’s conclusion, it has been announced that James , 61, will front a brand new series for Quest. The star’s new project will see him front James May and The Dull Men’s Club.
Its format involves James teaming up with the “Dull Men’s Club” Facebook phenomenon while exploring questions that the team want to test. For example, why can’t your washing machine double up as a cooker, allowing you to make a casserole at the same time as cleaning your whites? The series will air on Quest later in 2024. Aside from his TV work, James also wrote a weekly column for The Daily Telegraph's motoring section from 2003 to 2011.
Unlike his co-stars Jeremy and Richard, James joined the revived Top Gear later, coming on board beginning in series two. He was brought in to replace presenter and journalist Jason Dawe, who had co-hosted the inaugural series. Aside from his work in the motoring shows, James has also presented several other programmes.
Covering a variety of topics including toys, food and science , these include James May's Toy Stories, James May's Man Lab and J.
