What gives you peace? Are you left with anything if the source of your peace and hope is stripped away? Epoch Studios’ upcoming film, “The Firing Squad,” offers a unique perspective on this question. Based on actual events, it tells the story of men who found peace amid dire circumstances. Set to premiere in thousands of theaters nationwide this Aug.
2, the film presents a story that Americans today need to hear. Director Tim Chey shared that the movie’s inspiration came from events he had heard reported on CNN. He recalled listening to the anchor describe the group of men set to be executed the next day.
When asked how the inmates were doing, they were told that the men were calm because they had a savior. That was the moment Mr. Chey knew there was more to the story.
He says the film tells about events that were not fully reported on and hopes that the message of hope and saving faith can now be widely heard. One attendee shared: “Nowadays, we need this movie in America. The country is lost, with a lot of challenges and hopelessness, and I think this movie is going to bring joy and hope again for America.
” A woman said through tears that the movie “stirred emotions in me that I don’t think I’ve felt for a very long time. God is good.” This movie is Epoch Studios’ first major theater release and will be hitting theaters nationwide on Aug.
