The 2 Johnnies have put an end to rumours suggesting they could represent Ireland at the Eurovision, emphasising that they don’t have the time. Johnny B and Johnny Smacks have been in the headlines in recent weeks after wrapping up their two year tenure presenting 2FM’s Drivetime slot. Despite only finishing their show on May 31, the lads have already gone on to score a number one album in Ireland and play to 30,000 people at their Pints In A Field festival in Dublin.

With the duo no longer tied to RTÉ, some fans were hoping that they might take on the task of scoring Ireland’s eight Eurovision win. This year’s edition of the singing contest saw Bambie Thug finish sixth, becoming the highest-placing Irish act since Jedward cracked the top ten with Lipstick in 2011. Having his say on the ongoing rumours, Johnny B told the Irish Mirror: ‘No.
