A grand jury on Wednesday indicted suspects on murder charges in two separate Lafayette Parish homicides. Dontrell Laray Clark, 23, of Scott, was indicted on a count of second-degree murder in the death of 27-year-old Nathan Bob. in the 500 block of Orchid Drive the morning of Oct.

29, the Lafayette Police Department said. A warrant was issued for Clark’s arrest in November, and he was apprehended in mid-February. The Lafayette Police Department said detectives determined Bob was standing outside his residence when Clark, an acquaintance, pulled up in a vehicle.



The two exchanged words and Clark is accused of shooting Bob before fleeing the area. Bob was a father to two daughters and a stepdaughter, and enjoyed spending time with his kids, playing video games and caring for his three dogs, . Clark was out on bond in a separate 2018 murder case when Bob was killed.

Clark and codefendant Zy’shonne Rubin, 24, of Lafayette, are accused of killing 29-year-old Ethan Smith outside his residence in the Pecan Acres Mobile Home Village in Duson on Oct. 26, 2018. They were arrested alongside two juveniles in Smith’s death.

The 29-year-old as a father of three who loved camping and the beach. Rubin is currently scheduled for trial on a second-degree murder charge in the case on July 15, according to court records. Clark does not have a trial date set in the case.
