Supernatural alum Jared Padalecki has spoken to showrunner Eric Kripke about potentially joining Prime Video’s hit superhero show, The Boys. Padalecki, who is best known for portraying Sam Winchester in the long-running paranormal investigation series, professed his excitement during an interview with Deadline . The two previously collaborated on Supernatural, where Kripke served as creator and showrunner.

When asked if he would be up for joining The Boys, Padalecki gave a straightforward reply: “The answer is yes.” Details on how he might fit into the show’s already wide universe remain to be decided, but it’s a topic he and Kripke are keeping on their minds. “We have talked [about a role].

As a matter of fact, we talked today,” Padalecki said. “I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.” For many, Padalecki’s involvement in The Boys feels inevitable.

As the series has continued to tell its gory superhero story, it’s slowly introduced more of the Supernatural cast. First was Jim Beaver, who joined as Robert Singer in Season 1, then Season 3 brought Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles’ debut as Soldier Boy. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played John Winchester in Kripke’s previous show, eventually joined as Kessler for Season 4, too.

If Padalecki does appear in The Boys Season 5, it could mean fans see him.
