A former Strictly Come Dancing professional has weighed in on the Giovanni Pernice row - claiming "there is no smoke without fire ". James Jordan, who appeared on the BBC dance series from 2006 to 2013, appeared on This Morning earlier today to discuss the Italian dancer's Strictly exit amid claims more than one of his former partners has raised a complaint against him. Giovanni, who joined the star-studded reality TV show in 2015 and lifted the Glitterball trophy with Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021, was noticeably absent from the recently announced professional line-up for the next year amidst swirling rumours about his future on the show.

His exit from the show comes it is reported he is under BBC investigation after receiving complaints from at least three of his past celebrity dance partners. Giovanni was last seen partnering with Amanda Abbington, who pulled out of the 2023 series for "personal reasons". He has previously denied any accusations of "abusive or threatening behaviour" and expressed his intention to clear his name.
