The scandal surrounding Giovanni Pernice has divided the Strictly Come Dancing community. BBC bosses are reportedly looking back at nine years of training footage of the Sicilian-born star, 33, on the primetime show after Giovanni faced accusations of "abuse" over his alleged tough teaching style with past celebrity partners. The professional dancer has come under fire after three of his former celebrity dance partners - including actress Amanda Abbington - reportedly came together to launch legal action against his conduct on the BBC show.
Following the furore in which Giovanni took to Instagram denying the allegations against him, saying his training style "comes from a place of love", many of the dancer's friends have come forward to support him. However, some have stayed silent. Speaking about the divide, a source said: "Strictly has always been such a close-knit show, with everyone so supportive.
