It comes as The Sun reported that blind comedian Chris McCausland is said to have signed up for a show first. Back in 2021, deaf EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis made history after becoming the first deaf contestant to win the Strictly Glitterball. Strictly Come Dancing reportedly signs up Chris McCausland Comedian and actor Chris, 46, lost his sight when he was 22 from the hereditary condition, retinitis pigmentosa.

He had previously shared that he noticed his eyesight began to get “very bad” while attending university studying software engineering. Sharing: “My eyesight was starting to get very bad at uni, and the technology back then wasn’t what it is now, so I had to get off that particular career path.” But, now a source from has suggested Chris will make history if he is part of the 2024 season cast.
