Giovanni Pernice and Anton take to the stage on theatre tour Former Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice could soon be swapping sequins for snakes, according to the latest betting figures from Ladbrokes. The bookies have predicted that the Italian professional dancer could soon be heading into the I'm A Celebrity jungle. They have said that it's now just a 3/1 chance that the axed Strictly star will appear on ITV.
Jessica O'Reilly, head of PR at Ladbrokes, said: "With Giovanni's diary now wide open for the remainder of the year the odds firmly suggest we'll be seeing him back on our screens as an I'm A Celeb campmate." The BBC confirmed last month that Giovanni, 33, will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing for 2024 as they announced the line up of professionals. The Italian professional dancer has been on the BBC One celebrity dancing contest since 2015, winning it in 2021 with actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
The Italian star was paired with Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington last year. She withdrew from the competition citing "personal reasons". Since then, she has reportedly made complaints to the BBC over Gio's behaviour, as she allegedly claimed the show left her with post-traumatic stress disorder.
