The Sterling Nature Center will celebrate the opening of its new interpretive center at Inspiration 2024, its 24th annual art and nature festival, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.

m. Sunday, June 2. The festival will feature music by the Oswego Jazz Project, SUNY Oswego's faculty jazz group, performing originals and standards.



Local favorites The Ukuladies and singer-songwriter Megan Hook will perform as well. Also at the event will be a children's tent, a craft fair, an art exhibit, a silent auction and food by Fast and Fusion. The festival will honor longtime Friends of the Sterling Nature Center member Don Cox and others who have supported it for the past 25 years.

In April, the center opened a new $5 million, 5,000-square-foot interpretive building with exhibits and links to the center's trails. The festival, first organized by former center director John Weeks, will serve as the new facility's grand opening to the public. Cayuga County and state officials celebrated the opening of the new 5,000-square-foot interpretive building at the Sterling Nature Center.
