His Anchorman catchphrase may have been ‘stay classy, San Diego’ but Will Ferrell looked like he was ‘kind of a big deal’ as the Hollywood star was spotted visiting his ancestral home over the weekend. The Anchorman star has previously spoken about how his ancestral roots can be traced back to Ireland — namely Co Longford. While he’s been to Ireland several times over the years , Will was spotted in Co Longford on Thursday night, as he posed with staff at a popular restaurant in the area.
‘The amazing Will Farrell came to dine with us today,’ Vocella’s restaurant in Longford wrote. ‘What a pinch me moment!’ People were amazed to see Will in the Midlands, with one person commenting ‘Jeez he’s tall. Lovely pic!’ ‘Wowzer great photo,’ another commented, while another added ‘Wow, he knows where the best Italian food is.
’ Longford wasn’t the only place Will headed, however — as he was then seen at Tigh Neachtain pub in Galway on Friday — posing alongside the pub’s staff. ‘Did we just become best friends?’ the pub wrote on Facebook — a reference to Step Brothers, with others commenting ‘What?! When? How cool, Ron Burgundy!’ ‘Maith an fear Will boy! What;s he in Galway for?’ another commented. ‘Apart from the mighty pints of course.
