A GREY'S Anatomy alum has been picked to return to the show after seven years away. He became part of the drama 's spinoff show, Station 19 , which was canceled this year. Jason George played Dr.

Ben Warren on both shows. He has been a part of Grey's Anatomy since Season 6 and continues to play a recurring role. However, Jason, 52, left the show as a main star in 2017 to become a series regular on Station 19, which housed a lot of the same characters.



Station 19 aired its series finale on Thursday night, after it was canceled in December . The finale helped set up Jason's return to Grey's, as he was ready to head back to the operating room. A source revealed to Deadline that "there is no deal in place and the exact capacity in which Jason would return to Grey’s Anatomy is unclear but talks are ongoing.

" "The intent is to have him back full-time on the show." Ben has always had a personal connection to Grey's as he is married to Dr. Miranda Bailey, played by Chandra Wilson.

He was also using his medical background more on the final season of Station 19. After the series finale, the showrunners Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige expressed that they would like to continue with Station 19 because they have a lot more stories to tell. They spoke with People about a way to possible save the show.

"I think we'd happily go back into these waters," Peter said after being asked about a possible pickup. "There was one moment when it felt like there was a realistic possibility someone was go.
