Spaceballs 2 Moves Forward With Josh Gad, Mel Brooks Will Produce By is in the works. According to Jeff Sneider’s , Amazon MGM is moving forward with a sequel to 1987’s Spaceballs. is starring in the movie, though it’s not immediately clear who he’ll be playing.

Who else is involved in Spaceball 2’s search for more money? Gad is producing the movie with , who directed the original movie. Gad also co-wrote the screenplay with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez, while Josh Greenbaum has been tapped to direct the film. Greenbaum previously directed 2021’s Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and 2023’s Strays, along with episodes of New Girl, Fresh Off the Boat, and more.



Kevin Salter will serve as an executive producer for Spaceballs 2. Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time. Gad previously teased his involvement with a Spaceballs sequel on .
