has issued a warning to its thousands of TV customers that it will be "closing" some channels this week. The telecoms and TV giant, which boasts subscribers across the nation, is set to permanently shut down certain channels in what could be a significant blow for some. On its website, Sky clarified: "We're changing how we deliver our TV services.
" "This means if you have an SD box, you'll need to upgrade to continue watching Sky channels. In May, you'll lose access to Sky Sports channels, Sky Cinema channels and the MUTV channel." Sky further added: "Without the upgrade, any subscriptions you have to these channels will be cancelled.
" They also stated: "Want to cancel your subscriptions? You can do this without early termination charges. Or, you can continue watching without the channels above. From June, you'll start to lose access to all Sky channels", reports .
To find out if your Sky box is affected, one simple way to check is to select channel 101 on your remote control. If One HD appears, you're not affected. However, if you see BBC One in SD, you are affected and will need to upgrade your Sky box.
To check the version number, press Services on your Sky remote, then press 4 followed by 5.
