has been rushed to hospital after a dramatic tumble off stage during a performance of Player Kings at London's Noel Coward theatre. The acting legend, 85, lost his footing during an intense fight scene and took a fall. The audience was then swiftly evacuated from the theatre and informed that the evening's performance would be cancelled.

Player Kings, a production of Henry IV, Parts One and Two, began its 12-week West End run in April. There has been no update on the extent of Sir Ian's injuries. Audience members took to X, formerly known as Twitter after the incident to share their concern for the legendary actor as they described it as a "really bad fall".

One user shared: "Audience shocked by Sir fall off stage tonight at Noel Coward Theatre. Staff working hard to help him. Thoughts with him, cast and crew.

" Someone else replied: "It was a really bad fall. I hope that he is OK." Another added: "Shocking to watch, it was a terrible fall.

Hoping he is not badly injured, he seemed to be in great pain." Another audience member shared: "Wasn't sure if it was part of the play. He sounded in a bad way.

Hope he's ok." While another echoed: "It was very shocking indeed. Praying he is OK.

" In the role of John Falstaff, Sir Ian was involved in a battle scene with the Prince of Wales and Henry Percy when he fell off the front of the stage. As the house lights came up, the actor cried out in pain and staff rushed to his aid. The Mirror has contacted Ian's representatives for comment.
