VIEWERS have been left annoyed with Coronation Street bosses for wasting the potential of a brilliant actress on an 'awful' character. Claire Sweeney first appeared in Weatherfield as homeless drug addict Cassie Plumber in 2023. The character managed to get her life together and got a job at the garage so she could finally get close to her son, Tyrone .
However, in recent episodes she has started to annoy viewers with her 'arrogant' attitude, and some have even begged for producers to axe her from the show. Cassie lost her job at the garage when she insulted Abi Webster, saying she believed the deep fake pornography videos of her circulating online were real.
