Dancehall artiste Shaney Blaxx knows about poverty and violence; after all, he lived through the struggles and crime while residing in east Kingston. However, the emerging deejay didn't allow his circumstances to determine his future, and that's the message he conveys on his latest single, Concrete Jungle . Released last month, the single was produced by Worl Blast Music.

" Concrete Jungle was inspired by the place I grew up and what I saw happening around me at the time. Times were hard, and growing up as a child with both my parents, we learnt how to appreciate the little things that we had. But it was really rough," said Shaney Blaxx.

He shared that music played an integral role in keeping him on a positive path. "Understanding the job of an entertainer and wanting to be that next voice for the people, music changed my life 100 per cent," he disclosed. "Taking note of life's lessons and mapping out how life really works helped me to rise above the circumstances.

Learning from my parents, doing what's right and focusing on the right path to success also played a critical role," he added. The official video for Concrete Jungle has more than 135,000 views on YouTube, while the song has been garnering rotation on radio and is featured on several mixtapes..
