Hiram Kasten has died at 71 years old. The actor and comedian was best known for his role in Seinfeld and the sad news about his death was posted on social media over the weekend, leaving his fans devastated. His obituary, which dubbed him as "a truly charming guy," revealed that he passed away on Sunday (June 16) after battling prostate cancer and other illnesses.

It comes after seven years of fighting through a series of illnesses including prostate cancer and a lifelong battle with Crohn’s disease. Hiram revealed that he was terminally ill to those closest to him in the last six months. He was met with an outpour of love from his friends, something his wife Diana said "prolonged his life for at least another two months to be able to laugh with his peers.



" Hiram was a beloved staple of the New York City comedy scene entertaining audiences all throughout the '70s and '80s known and loved for his role on the hit comedy sitcom Seinfeld as Michael, the co-worker to Elaine Benes played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. In addition to Seinfeld, Kasten made sitcom appearances regularly over the next couple decades, racking up credits for My Wife and Kids, Saved By the Bell, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Everybody Loves Raymond, 7th Heaven, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Men of a Certain Age and a whole lot more. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Diana, his daughter Millicent and numerous extended family members.

According to TMZ, His family are planning funeral services in both New York and Lo.
