Sega is allegedly developing a remake of the original Jet Set Radio as a separate project to the officially announced franchise reboot, as screenshots and footage have appeared online. It's unclear if the leaks are genuine, but X/Twitter user @MSKAZZY69 shared four images of the alleged reboot, sourcing previously reliable Sega leaker Midori — though they were exposed to be a leaker called MysticDistance pretending to be someone else when they claimed to give up leaking information earlier in June 2024. The source of the screenshots are therefore hazy, as is a 32-second gameplay video which appears unlisted on YouTube channel @CrimsonMk3 , but both show what looks like an updated version of the beloved Jet Set Radio.

IGN has asked Sega for comment. A remake of the original Jet Set Radio is in the works at SEGA, it is a full remake of the Dreamcast game and it is not related to the F2P reboot. Source: Midori pic.

twitter.com/D7Cd8yDLly — Senhorita Kazzy (@MSKAZZY69) June 24, 2024 Three of the screenshots show protagonist Beat exploring Tokyo by grinding on rails and running across walls, while the fourth shows the World Map, which features locations such as Central, DennoCho Station, Neribei, SubCul, and South. The video shows what appears to be an in-development trailer for the game, again showing Beat traversing Tokyo while spraying graffiti, performing tricks, and more.

This footage is incredibly similar, if not identical in places, to the "Next Generation" montage relea.
