Scottish acting star Kevin McKidd left staff stunned when he popped in for a bite to eat in a local restaurant on the banks of Loch Lomond. The Trainspotting actor, also famed for his role as Dr. Owen Hunt in Greys Anatomy, made a delightful surprise appearance at The Village Rest in Luss earlier in the week.

He brightly beamed for the camera sporting a cap, with a coffee in hand. Kevin, 50, posed alongside one thrilled staff member who was beaming for the photograph. The restaurant took to social media to share the news, with the female waitress going "full fan girl" over the special moment.

She even dashed off shift to excitedly ring her mum about the chance encounter , where it is believed the star was on a trip with his family. The post said: "The super talented and very cool Kevin McKidd of Trainspotting and Greys Anatomy fame stopped by The Village Rest today. "He was very gracious in obliging our staff member Sarah-Louise who went full fan girl and had to call her mum afterwards! Thanks for stopping by Kevin, hope to see you and your family again soon!" One person wrote: "Amazing.
