SAM Thompson has broken his silence on the ‘crying’ pics amid rumours he's split from Zara McDermott. Last month The Sun revealed that the former Made In Chelsea star was in tears at a TV awards ceremony after the Love Island favourite walked out on him following a bust-up. Sam broke down at the Tric Awards in London, where he was nominated for his Staying Relevant podcast, and was seen being comforted by his best pal Pete Wicks .
Now Sam has finally explained what really happened and why he was so emotional. Speaking on his podcast, Sam said: "Firstly, there's no way of getting around it. "I had actually received some bad news , so I actually was really sad, I'm not going to lie about it, but I was.
" Despite looking very sad, he confirmed that he had no tears rolling down his cheeks. Sam added: "I wasn't crying though, I wasn't actually crying. I just want to let everyone know that now.
"There was a paparazzi shot which said ' Sam Thompson crying after THAT argument with girlfriend Zara ' after the Soccer Aid thing. "They linked both of them together." The pair were pictured in a heated argument at this year's Soccer Aid match.
Sam later broke his silence over the pictures. Speaking on his podcast, Sam said: "I think it's time to quash the elephant in the room. It's huge.
"We need to quash these rumours now before they get started. "There was an article on the Soccer Aid after party where there were photos taken of myself and my lovely girlfriend Zara having what genuine.
