irectors Joe and Anthony Russo made history with the two Avengers movies they directed, which broke box office records at the time and left an indeleable mark amongst Marvel fans. These two films together set the barr a little too high the the projects that came after them. Since those movies premiered and the Russo brothers left, MCU head huncho Kevin Feige has struggled to tell the overall story of the Multiverse Saga phase in a way that fans find as hyptotizing as the Russo's movies were.
Amid the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film, film journalist Jeff Sneider is reporting that the Russo brothers are officially in talks to return into the MCU fold. Their first order of business will be to direct the next two Marvel films but the plan is to get them involved in telling the entire story. Could the Russo brothers direct the X-Men films? If you know your Marvel Comics lore, you know that the most important IP they have aside from Spider-Man are the X-Men.
Mutants have been introduced into the MCU relatively recently, which means that them alongside the Fantastic Four are the upcoming projects that fans are eager to enjoy on the big screen. If they want to tell the best possible story, Kevin Feige knows that one of their best chances is to get the Russo brothers to take over the story. According to film scooper Jeff Sneider, the upcoming Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con means that the directors could make a surprise appearance during the MCU panel.
Sneider offered details on this.
