The wax statue of America's 16th President Abraham Lincoln started melting as temperatures rose in Washington, DC. Pictures of the melting figure, which show Lincoln's head snapped back are going viral on social media. According to reports, temperatures reached 37° Celsius causing the statue which is installed outdoors at a campus of an elementary school to melt.

It also said that there is no guarantee the statue will be sitting up straight for the months ahead. Created by US-based artist Sandy Williams, the statue is at Camp Baker which has a rich history linked to the civil war era.
