Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer look set to be coming to Grimsby to take part in a televised leaders' event during the general election campaign. The Labour leader has agreed to take part in the Sky News event that is set to take place in the coming weeks on a date yet to be confirmed which would see the hopefuls for Number 10 take questions from voters in North East Lincolnshire. The Prime Minister has reportedly not yet confirmed his attendance but "negotiations are ongoing" and a spokesperson for the Conservatives told Sky News that Mr Sunak "would be delighted to travel to Grimsby to take part in the Sky News leaders' event and answer questions from voters".
That will be "on the condition that he and Keir Starmer take those questions on stage together". "This will give viewers the best opportunity to see the clear choice the country faces at this election," the spokesperson added.
