Residents at a Humberston care home have been treated to a series of calming pet therapy sessions with two Sphynx cats named Iggy and Ozzy. After members of staff, Wellbeing Co-ordinator Hayley Sandison and Kitchen Assistant Jamie Biddles, bought the two felines as kittens, residents at Clarendon Hall Care Home on Church Avenue were eager to meet them. Several months on, and the hairless cats have developed bonds with many of the residents, providing a calm and relaxed atmosphere for them whenever they come to visit.

The pictures were shared with my daughter who lives in New Zealand.” Nicola Walker, Home Manager at Clarendon Hall, said: “It makes the residents feel nostalgic and they reminisce about the pets they have had.

We don’t have any residents who don’t like the pet visits.

" During the visits, Iggy and Ozzy have helped the residents in a number of ways, from providing a calm atmosphere and helping to settle a restless .
