A expert says casual sex is 'inherently dangerous' for women. Author, journalist and podcaster Louise Perry believes a number of factors such as strength and risk of pregnancy means that casual sex is riskier for women. However, she says men are more likely to engage in casual relationships as they are 'keener'.

Talking on Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO podcast, Louise explained that being alone with essentially a stranger also means women could end up harmed. She said: "I think casual sex is almost always more risky for women than it's worth it for women. "One being alone with a man you don't know, basically, is what we're talking about, is inherently dangerous for women because of that physical asymmetry.
