This news has been read 63 times! KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Dr. Fatima Al-Salem, the Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), has announced the upcoming launch of a summer media training program aimed at children. Titled “Little KUNA Club,” the program is scheduled to run from June 23 to July 4.
Registration for the summer program has opened and will continue until next Tuesday. Targeting children between the ages of 9 and 12, the initiative serves as a form of community service, aimed at fostering media awareness and education among children, as provided by KUNA. The primary objective of the program is to empower children and cultivate their creative skills through hands-on media activities.
Additionally, it seeks to enhance media literacy among children, preparing them to discern between authentic and misleading news and to verify information sources effectively. Furthermore, the program aims to refine language skills and enhance children’s ability to express themselves in Arabic, as well as to write news and press reports effectively. Lamia Al-Farsi, Head of the Marketing Department at KUNA’s Marketing and International Relations Department, elaborated on the program’s curriculum.
It includes introducing children to fundamental journalism and media concepts, such as the role of journalism in society and the importance of providing accurate and objective information. Moreover, the program focuses on developing research and writing skills, guiding children through.
