During the promotions for his upcoming film, Mr. & Mrs. Mahi , Rajkummar Rao shared a heartfelt tradition he continues in memory of his late mother, Kamalesh Yadav.

In an interview with Curly Tales, Rao revealed his dedication to fasting every Friday, a practice he adopted from his mother. “I keep a fast on Fridays. It is something my mother would do for Santoshi Maa.

Rajkummar Rao reveals he fasts every Friday to honour his late mother’s tradition Rao, whose mother passed away in 2016, spoke about how this tradition affects his daily life, particularly while managing the demands of his acting career. He acknowledged the challenges, noting that fasting can sometimes make his hectic schedule more difficult.

“Sometimes, I do not eat any meals, and sometimes, when I am working and I need to put in a lot of energy that day, I have one meal at night," Rao shared. Despite these challenges, he remains committed to this practice as a way to honour his mother's memory. The actor often expresses his deep love and admiration for his mother.

On her death anniversary in March, Rao posted a poignant photo from his wedding to Patralekhaa, showing him blowing a kiss to a picture of his late mother. His caption read, “You will always be the best mother in this world Maa. I know your blessings are always with me.

Miss you every day. I love you forever." This emotional tribut.
