Firecracker fanatics take note, an annual Kawartha Lakes-area fireworks festival is coming to Hamilton for the first time in August. Ontario fireworks display production company and retailer Supernova Fireworks is hosting their third annual Pyro Fest in Lindsay, Aug. 3, and, for the first time, they are then bringing the event to Hamilton.
Locally, the boom, crackle, whistle, snap of professionally produced fireworks will take place at Ancaster Fairgrounds on Aug. 17. The event will feature live music, food trucks, vendors and family entertainment in the early evening, and then approximately 30 minutes of pyrotechnics — choreographed to music — after dark.
Tickets, starting at $15 for kids and $35 for adults, are available online . Entry will cost more at the day of the event. Pyro stans can also buy an “unlimited pass” for both Kawartha and Hamilton events for $50 or $20 for kids.
