Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a three-day tour of Nigeria earlier this month, where they were greeted as 'royalty' by locals - and the couple's royal-like tours could continue. A Royal expert has suggested that despite the Royal Family's potential reservations, they may not have the power to halt Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from undertaking further unofficial overseas tours. Yet, they could put a spanner in the works, at least, with administrative interference, reports the Mirror .

This comes after the Sussexes ' recent jaunt to Nigeria, which appeared remarkably like a full-scale Royal tour featuring school visits, military parade reviews, and promotional activity for the Invictus Games. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have continued these sorts of engagements despite their official withdrawal from Royal duties last year and subsequent relocation to the United States. They've been raking it in via private ventures, including Harry's upcoming memoir ' Spare ', and have also branched out into television with their own Netflix series.



Tom Sykes, Royal editor for The Daily Beast, offered his perspective on the situation: "Everywhere they went in Nigeria they were greeted as royalty. "The royals can't stop them doing more tours, but the government might seek to apply serious diplomatic pressure on friendly states not to host these quasi-royal tours" according to the Express.
