The Mumbai police is enquiring into a case of foreigners working on film sets without a work permit. A police source told us, "we visited a film set , and found that some foreigners with tourist visas were working on it. We are enquiring into the case and will be better placed to talk about it once the investigation is over.

'' The President of Federation of Western India Cine Employees BN Tiwari, informs us that a FRRO ( foreign regional registration office) advisory was issued in the Month of April, clearly stating that only foreigners with proper work permit should be allowed to work in the film and TV industry. Tiwari adds, "any foreigner with work permit is allowed to work in film industry, however without it, what if something untoward takes place on the set? The onus will be on the entire film industry. We have keep our industry and country safe.



'' He adds, "we had requested the producers' bodies to share with FWICE, the list of foreigners working on their respective set, and to also send letters to them about the same.'' FWICE in its letter sent to them states, "we request you to please ask your members to be vigilant on hiring any foreigners by the producers for their projects without a proper work visa and other required documents as per the government norms. This is mandatory to follow by all of us being Indian citizens, to avoid any untoward incidents on the shooting locations.
